An Improvement To Qi2 Charging For Your iPhone 12
All of Apple's most recent iPhone models are compatible with the new Qi2 wireless charging standard; however, the iPhone 12 only recently received support for it with the release of iOS 17.4.
Testing revealed that an iPhone 12 could charge with a Qi2 charger just as quickly as it could with an Apple MagSafe charger, indicating that it was using the full 15W while using the non-Apple accessory. Macworld was the first to report on the stealth feature drop.

We started our tests with an Apple MagSafe Charger, which took 38 minutes to fully charge an empty iPhone 12 Pro Max to 30% and 70 minutes to reach 50%. We took an iPhone 12 Pro Max and charged it to 30 percent and 50 percent, respectively, in 33 and 64 minutes, using the Anker Qi2 MagGo Wireless Charger.
The Qi2 standard is basically the same as the MagSafe standard, with the exception that whilst the MagSafe chargers are limited to 15W of wireless charging, the Qi2 standard allows for future increases in that speed.
All of the capabilities found in the MagSafe standard are also present in the Qi2 standard, such as the magnetic connection that allows automobile mounts that install an iPhone to the rear without the need for clips or chargers that double as stands.

An increasing number of Qi2 wireless chargers appear on the market every other week, and since businesses are no longer required to obtain an Apple technology license, these chargers are typically less expensive than their Apple MagSafe counterparts, which is always advantageous for consumers.
